Julius Weiland is best known for his glass artworks, which can be found in many renowned collections (Victoria & Albert Museum, Museum Kunstpalast, Würth Collection, Veste Coburg Art Collections and the Lette Glass Museum). In recent years, painting has been added to his oeuvre, which the artist now also exhibits along with his glass works. Now Julius Weiland, a Berliner par excellence, comes to Lette to present an exhibition that is a first even for the Glass Museum, because his glass art goes together with his painting, which cannot be viewed in isolation, but rather in the context of the sometimes exclusively created glass object. So: painting versus glass! Their materiality could not be more contrasting, but the theme of architecture unites them.
